Jen Jewell

While I've been involved in the health and fitness industry for over a decade, I have unfortunately not always been the epitome of health. Throughout college I struggled with balancing my school, work, fitness and social life and as a result my weight and bodyfat levels fluctuated greatly. To put this in perspective, I have pant sizes in my closet ranging from 0-11 (yes, that is ZERO to size ELEV...EN!) which is clearly not a healthy range (especially for someone who competes in the "Short" class category) to fluctuate and was starting to wear on both my health and livelihood. I knew I needed to make a change!

Having been involved in the health and fitness industry for over a decade, I decided that 2011 was the year I would finally step on stage and compete! Growing up, I was always active and athletic, so what better way to take it to the next level and train for the WBFF and compete with the best of the best?

I started training for my first competition, the WBFF U.S. Eastern Championships, and stepped on stage exactly three months to the day after I had made up my mind to compete. Boy was I ever in for a surprise- hours after I stepped on stage for my first fitness competition, I was awarded my Pro card in the WBFF Fitness Model category! This qualified me to enter the 2011 WBFF World Championships as a Fitness PRO! I recently made my WBFF Pro debut, placing in the Top 10 and earning 6th place at the World Championships in a line-up of amazing Pro Fitness athletes! I am already preparing for the 2012 WBFF season and am looking forward to what the future holds.

I have Bachelor's Degrees in both Public Relations and Marketing. I am also a certified personal trainer, sports nutritionist, fitness class instructor, fitness model and health and fitness writer.

Years Experience in this Sport:I've been hitting the gym for over 10 years, but June 2011 was when I entered my first competition

Hobbies and recreational activities:Well of course working out! Anything active, whether that be going for a run or hike outdoors, heading to the beach with friends, spending time with friends, family, and my dog.
